AlphaTheta has partnered with Native Instruments and Algoriddim to launch OneLibrary, a new cross-platform format designed to make DJ libraries work seamlessly across different software and hardware. The goal is to help DJs move their music, playlists, and cue points between platforms without having to reanalyse tracks or rebuild everything from scratch.
How it works
In simple terms, OneLibrary lets DJs save their music library, including playlists, cue points, beatgrids, and BPM/key info, to a USB drive and use it on any other supported software or hardware.
The system builds on rekordbox’s former feature, Device Library Plus, which has now evolved into an open, cross-brand standard under the OneLibrary name. It already works with rekordbox and Algoriddim’s djay Pro, which can export directly to OneLibrary. Native Instruments has also confirmed that support will soon arrive for Traktor Play and in the next update of Traktor Pro 4.
Solving a long-standing issue

For years, DJs have faced the frustration of being locked into specific ecosystems. Each major platform maintained its own library format, making it difficult to switch or share music libraries without using third-party tools. OneLibrary doesn’t introduce new technology so much as a new attitude, which is cooperation. By agreeing on a shared standard for library data, the major developers are removing one of the biggest barriers in digital DJing. For DJs, that means less time spent managing files and more time focused on the performance.
Compatible hardware

At launch, OneLibrary works with AlphaTheta’s latest generation of players. Libraries exported in the OneLibrary format can be used without a laptop on compatible devices such as the CDJ-3000X, CDJ-3000, XDJ-AZ, OPUS-QUAD, and OMNIS-DUO. When a prepared USB is connected, waveforms, BPM, key information, cue points, and loops appear exactly as they were set during preparation.
What it means for DJs and the industry

OneLibrary makes the DJ world more flexible and accessible. New and aspiring DJs can start on whichever platform they prefer, without worrying about losing their work later. It’s also a rare show of collaboration between competing brands, signalling a growing willingness to adopt open, user-friendly standards.
However, some key names are missing for now. Serato has yet to confirm official support, though recent software updates suggest that compatibility may be possible in the future. VirtualDJ, which already has its own export features, is not currently part of the initiative. The Engine DJ ecosystem, covering Denon DJ, Numark, and other inMusic brands, remains uncertain given its competing platform and business position.
The takeaway

While OneLibrary isn’t yet universal, it’s a major step towards genuine interoperability in the DJ industry. By reducing repetitive setup work and making libraries portable, it moves the profession closer to the long-held dream of being able to prep once and play anywhere.
