DistroKid, the world’s largest distributor of independent music, has announced that its popular music video delivery service DistroVid now empowers any independent artist from around the world to upload unlimited full-length music videos to Spotify.
For one low annual price, DistroVid offers independent artists unlimited music video uploads to major streaming platforms.
Music videos are a core part of how fans engage with music, helping artists tell deeper stories and expand their reach. The ability for independent artists to deliver music videos to Spotify is an opportunity to share both audio and visual content in one cohesive experience on the world’s biggest streaming platform.
“DistroVid makes it easy for independent artists to get their music videos everywhere, with unlimited uploads and zero commission. We’re excited to now include Spotify as a destination,” said Phil Bauer, President of DistroKid. “I’m so impressed by how seamlessly video has been integrated – listeners can instantly switch between the music video and audio track with a single tap, making it feel like a native, fluid part of the Spotify experience.”
Independent artists using DistroVid can now have their music videos appear directly alongside their audio releases on Spotify, offering listeners a more complete, connected way to experience their music. Launched in 2022, DistroVid lets artists upload unlimited music videos to Apple Music, Vevo, Tidal, Boomplay, and now Spotify, for just $99 a year. As always, DistroKid pays artists 100% of their earnings and takes no commission.
New York City-based hip hop artist Marlon Craft said: “As an independent artist, growing my career is all about finding authentic mediums for discovery. DistroVid and the ability to add music videos to Spotify creates an opportunity—if the visuals can live where people discover and listen to the music, it can allow visual art to market the music itself in a way that is super direct and impactful.”
Music videos on Spotify are in beta for millions of Spotify Premium listeners in 98 markets (not yet including the United States or Canada).
