Alumni in the Spotlight
Pete Tong led a standout keynote interview with French DJ and producer HUGEL, exploring his rise from breakout act to global headliner. Their conversation offered a rare look at HUGEL’s creative evolution and how Middle Eastern influences shaped tracks like ‘Majnuna’, which was a natural fit for a summit hosted in Dubai.
Another graduate in the spotlight was techno icon Nicole Moudaber, who took the Complete Master Diploma with us. She joined a strong lineup featuring Bedouin, Misty, and others, and also delivered a studio masterclass during the event.
Seeing Pete and Nicole driving key moments at IMS is proof that pointblank graduates are leading the way in the music industry.
Workshops, Panels and Real-World Learning
IMS Dubai was not only about headliners. It was also about sharing knowledge and nurturing new talent, which sits at the heart of pointblank values.
A major highlight was the ‘How I DJ’ workshop, hosted by our partners, DJ Mag, and featuring DJ Habibeats in a live, on-stage demonstration. He broke down the craft and technology behind his hybrid DJ sets, blending Arab musical heritage with contemporary production. We are already working to bring back a DJ Mag masterclass to our own pointblank students. Stay tuned for more information!
Beyond the workshops, the summit panels explored the future of music from several angles, including gaming and virtual concerts, diversity and representation, and new models for sustainable artist careers.
