Miley Cyrus compared Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “WAP” to her racy Bangerz era during a conversation with Monica Lewinsky.
Lewinsky hosted Cyrus on a new episode of her podcast Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky, during which the three-time Grammy winner referenced the raunchy 2020 hit.
Around the 59-minute mark of the episode below, Cyrus explained her “dramatic” exit from Disney before comparing it to “WAP.”
“A couple years ago, like, ‘WAP,'” Cyrus said, to which Lewinsky interjected, “Wait, I don’t know what that is.”

“Are we telling Monica Lewinsky what WAP is about? Should I tell her?” Cyrus asked before revealing that the phrase means “wet-ass pussy.”
Megan and Cardi’s polarizing collab saw mainstream success despite controversy, public criticism and radio censorship, similar to Cyrus’ music and persona in the early 2010s. At the time, Cyrus’ style was more risqué, deterring parents whose children were fans of former Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana.
“It got performed at the Grammys,” Cyrus continued about “WAP.” “I dressed as a teddy bear and got shamed. “But Cardi B isn’t for kids. She’s not a child star. For me, it was so hard to go but like why is Rihanna not in trouble? But it was because I was a kid star, so it’s like the babysitter went rogue. I was like a babysitter for America’s children.”
Cardi also reflected on the song last year in an interview with Vogue and said that it reached “conservative people” and made “soccer moms cry.”
