Audio Plugin Deals is offering Ink Vocal by Ink Audio as a free download for a limited time. The Kontakt library normally costs $50.
I noticed Ink Audio’s website around Black Friday last year, and I was very tempted to buy the complete bundle. The developer has some really unique instruments on the site, including some that I haven’t seen in any bread-and-butter sample library catalog.
You can find things like a talk box, a collection of toy pianos, banjo, slide guitar, and other instruments that could help spark an idea or two. However, as I was trying to reduce my gear acquisition syndrome at the time and had promised myself not to buy more than one product on Black Friday, I skipped the bundle.
I have thought about those instruments again since then, though, so I’m definitely grabbing this freebie.
If you’ve been reading BPB, you may have already picked up Ink Slide when it was free on Audio Plugin Deals in March. Ink Vocal is another chance to add something from Ink Audio to your collection for free.
Ink Vocal is a group vocal library for Kontakt, built around four singers. You get two male and two female voices, and the library lets you play them together or balance them individually.
The product page mentions nearly 4,000 samples, with true legato transitions and polyphonic playback. In simple terms, Poly mode is for chords, while Legato mode is for melodic lines where the notes connect more naturally.
The library includes three vowel-style articulations. They are Mmh, Oh, and Ooh. Ink Audio also says the human imperfections were left in intentionally, so not every note or transition is meant to sound perfectly polished. Nice touch!
That approach is exactly what I like about Ink Audio’s instruments. A perfectly tuned and overly processed vocal instrument can sound impressive out of the box, but I find inspiration in the less-than-perfect sounds (perfectly imperfect would be another way of putting it).

Ink Vocal works great for organic textures, intimate vocal pads, and layered vocal parts for cinematic, ambient, indie, acoustic, or pop productions.
You can play all four singers at once, open more instances for counterpoint with solo voices, or use the library as an extra layer alongside your own vocal recordings. Since the voices are built from dry recordings, you can also run them through your favorite reverbs, impulse responses, delays, or more creative vocal effects if you want to push them further.
The interface keeps things simple, with nothing more than a mixer for level and panning adjustments, solo and mute controls for each voice, and basic sound-shaping options like low-pass filter, compression, delay, and reverb.
Ink Vocal requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5 or higher. Kontakt Player is not supported. The library works on macOS and Windows and requires 5.38 GB of storage space.
