Stereoid Light is the little brother of Stereoid, ANWIDA Soft’s premium stereo enhancer plugin – and it is free for a limited time.
Although Stereoid Light is a streamlined plugin, it’s built on the same core principles as the premium version.
It uses a subtle decorrelation algorithm, a microtonal detuner, and a calibrated delay to turn mono or narrow stereo tracks into something that sounds thicker, fatter, and more spacious.
Stereoid Light typically costs $29, but you can grab it for free by creating an account at ANWIDA Soft.
The product page still displays a price of $29, but once you create an account, Stereoid Light will be available to download in the Free Downloads section.
The plugin is available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS (10.10 or later) and Windows (7-11).
I’m not sure when the offer will expire, so get Stereoid Light while you can.
The idea of Stereoid Light having fewer controls than its big brother, while still offering similar functionality under the hood, is to provide a speedy workflow and immediate results, whether upmixing mono tracks or stereo mastering.
It certainly delivers immediate results, and, when used on individual tracks, I think it works particularly well on rhythmic/harmonic elements that need room to breathe.
For example, it’s a quick way to add depth and presence to strummed or picked acoustic guitars or keyboard/synth chords.
The stereo widening algorithm is fully mono-compatible.
Many of you have already entered, but if you haven’t yet, do it now! Good luck!
