Plugin Boutique is currently having a sale on iZotope’s vocal effects powerhouse, VocalSynth 2. The plugin usually retails for €251, but you can now purchase it for €20.63, which is a whopping 91% discount. This offer lasts until the end of the month.
If dull vocals are a common feature in your projects, this beastly plugin has all the tools you need to turn them into something else entirely. Check out some of the features here:
Talkbox, Vocoder, formant shifting, pitch shifting, distortion, Furby-like LPC sounds, an interactive animation interface that morphs your effects in real time? Yeah, and that is just scratching the surface of what this thing can do.
VocalSynth 2 can range from a subtle refiner to a balls-to-the-wall sound mangling tool. It’s not like you have to process vocals exclusively, either. Throw any instrument or sample into the processor to experiment.
This is actually one of the most appealing aspects of VocalSynth 2: you can use it as a real-time processor for any audio, as a MIDI instrument, or as a sidechain effect where external audio triggers the sound engines to make VocalSynth “talk” on its own.
So how does it work?
At first glance, the plugin appears daunting as there are a lot of knobs, sliders, menus, and sections. In other words, if you want to learn the ins and outs of this thing, be prepared to spend some hours diving into the manual.

While that is the case, the overall impression is pretty orderly.
The top row consists of five blendable modules: The all-new Biovox, as well as Vocoder, Compuvox, Talkbox, and Polyvox.
Biovox uses scientific modelling of a human vocal tract(!) and is all about texture and character. Impart vowels, nasality, and breath onto your audio. Process it even further with advanced mix controls and a synthesizer.

Vocoder becomes a talking robot. Need I say more? Control each band individually, brighten or darken the entire frequency spectrum, automate frequency shifting, and jump into the synth engine to get the exact character you’re after.

Compuvox is a cool module that uses the same principle as that annoying toy you had as a child: LPC (Linear Predictive Coding).

Ever wondered why your Furby could talk? LPC. Compuvox lets you apply bitcrushing, resampling, aliasing, and different LPC modes to all the digital mayhem your heart desires.
Talkbox enables you to become Bon Jovi. Sidechain this module to incoming audio and tweak the cabinet emulation to alter the “physical” characteristics of the talkbox speaker.

Polyvox is a polyphonic pitch shifter. Create harmonies that stay in key from your input audio, add subtle backing vocals, ad-libs, an entire chorus of artificial singers, or crazy cartoon-like sounds for that matter.

VocalSynth 2 also features an interactive animation in the middle of the plugin where you can “drag” and blend your selected effects. A handy tool for recording complex automations and sonic transformations in real-time.
If that wasn’t enough, you have the entire bottom row of the plugin to experiment with seven different stomp box effects that can be organized in any order you want. Apply, chorus, distortion, delay, ring modulation, and more to finish your sound design.
And by the way: Audiodeluxe is now giving away IK Multimedia´s Tape Echo or Cherry Audio´s Stardust with any purchase in their store this month.
If you’re looking for a powerful and versatile plugin to create new, interesting sounds or just a suite of effects to polish those vocal takes, VocalSynth 2 is a no-brainer. Especially at this heavily discounted price of €20.63.
