W.A. Production is offering Vocal Splitter as a free download with the coupon code GETWAVS.
Vocal Splitter normally costs $29, but you can add it to your W.A. Production account for free by applying the GETWAVS coupon at checkout. I don’t see an end date listed for this offer, so it’s worth grabbing sooner rather than later if you need a simple vocal widening tool.
You can see how the checkout looks with the coupon applied in the screenshot below.
The plugin lets you turn mono vocals into wider stereo parts without having to record multiple takes. It splits the mono source into a stereo signal by detuning the sides differently, then shapes the result to create a more defined stereo image with minimal phasing.
The main Mix control blends the original vocal with the added stereo signal. If you want to hear only the processed part or use Vocal Splitter on an effects send, the Mute Source button removes the dry signal from the output.
Speed and Depth control the phase-offset vibrato part of the effect. Lower settings should give you subtle thickening, while higher settings push things closer to an obvious doubled sound.
I’ve found that you really need to be careful not to overdo it, though. As always with vocal widening, a little usually goes a long way, especially if the lead vocal still needs to stay centered.
The Drive control adjusts the asymmetrical rectification stage. You can push it harder to get some saturation, and it can help pull the stereo image back toward the center. In my experience, it’s worth a try if the widened part starts to feel too detached from the source.

W.A. Production also included high-pass and low-pass filters for the added stereo signal. This is a good idea because widening the low end can quickly create phase and mono compatibility issues. Filtering the processed signal lets you keep the widening focused on the frequencies where it is most useful.
The plugin also includes presets to help you get started, but I’m sure that most users will just play around with the settings because it’s a pretty simple tool.
Although Vocal Splitter is clearly aimed at vocals, it can also be used on synths, percussion, and other mono sources that need a bit more width.
Vocal Splitter is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.15 or higher. Apple Silicon compatibility was added in version 2.2.0.
