Tony Yayo says he was alarmed when he saw 50 Cent and Joe Budden together at a recent New York Knicks playoff game.
In a new interview with DJ Vlad, Yayo made the host laugh when he expressed his concern for Budden’s safety.
“I was scared for Joe Budden,” said Yayo, before explaining that he didn’t think anything serious would happen because of where they were.
“At the same time, it’s the playoffs. You’re paying attention to the game,” the G-Unit member explained. “Madison Square Garden is like the airport. If you pop off there, you’re banned forever. It’s not a place you want to get into an altercation. You’re courtside. You start a fight there, you’re gonna make the news.”
Late last month, Fif and Budden were spotted in seats near each other as the Knicks played the Detroit Pistons. Considering the fact that the stars have had some harsh words for each other in recent months, this linkup could have been a recipe for disaster — but thankfully, nothing violent popped off.
Fif mockingly celebrated their peaceful coexistence with a post of the two together, writing: “I ran into Joe at the game, he said I don’t need Therapy No MORE!”

Fif and Budden’s problems date back to February, when the podcast host, prompted by Fif cracking jokes about Irv Gotti’s death, suggested that the G-Unit general needs professional help with his mental health.
“Hip-hop is the new meaning for ‘I need therapy,’” Budden said. “Kanye West needs therapy. 50 Cent needs therapy. I don’t care if you agree with the rationale. And 50 is 50. He gon’ stand in it. He gon’ stand strong in it.”
Fif responded by posting AI-generated images of Budden sleepwalking naked in reference to a now-dismissed court case in which he was allegedly recorded sleepwalking naked and attempting to enter a neighbor’s apartment.
Budden addressed Fif’s posts on his podcast, saying, “50’s been posting me for seven days in a row. If I have a problem with it, we’re getting lawyers involved.”
After laughing off Budden’s threats, Fif suggested that the Jersey rapper-turned-podcaster was the one who actually needs therapy in the wake of alleged audio of Budden arguing with Love & Hip Hop: New York alum Raqi Thunda leaking in April.
“Well Damn Joe you need therapy for real,” 50 wrote in an Instagram post. “You’re sleepwalking around naked. Master baiting [sic] till the point you need travel lube, this is weird behavior.”
