Tony Yayo has revealed he went to Catholic school in his younger years and got robbed by some local gangsters once he stopped taking the school bus.
In his latest interview on VladTV, the Queens native reflected on his early years of attending Catholic school while wearing a full uniform. Yayo jokingly told Vlad he didn’t want anyone knowing that he went to Catholic school, but went ahead and explained what his experience was like attending a religious place of learning.
According to Yayo, his parents were never going to send him to a “criminal school” where he said his G-Unit labelmates 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks attended, so they made him go to a school that was more fitting in their eyes.
“I grew up in the church from first to eighth grade. I went to Catholic school, don’t tell nobody,” said Yayo. “I had to wear a uniform […] that’s why I got robbed.”
“From first to eighth, I went to Catholic school, so I took the yellow bus from first to seventh. So when I got to the eighth grade […] I had to take the city bus, and now I’m with the super gangsters. Springfield High School, 231.”
Yayo then spoke about the schools in Queens that were “known for the shit” and how he had his jacket stolen by someone who pulled out a .38 Special firearm to rob him. In another segment in his interview with VladTV, Yayo recalled being worried for Joe Budden’s safety when he bumped into 50 Cent at a New York Knicks game.
“I was scared for Joe Budden,” said Yayo. “At the same time, it’s the playoffs. You’re paying attention to the game […] Madison Square Garden is like the airport. If you pop off there, you’re banned forever. It’s not a place you want to get into an altercation. You’re courtside. You start a fight there, you’re gonna make the news.”
