Taylor Swift Director Joseph Kahn Reveals Which ‘Rep’ Era…

Taylor Swift is known to keep songs in the vault for years. But it seems she’s also keeping videos in the vault.

Over the years, the “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” hitmaker has collaborated with acclaimed music video director Joseph Kahn on several of her visuals, including “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” and “Delicate.” But Kahn has confirmed that he directed one video that has not seen the light of day.

In a video interview that recently surfaced online, and later shared to a Swift fan account, Kahn revealed that he and Swift filmed a video for “King of my Heart,” a fan favorite from Swift’s 2017 album, Reputation.

“We started shooting it, we never finished it because she switched gears in the middle of it to do ‘…Ready for It?’” Kahn said.

Kahn continued, describing the video as a “very conceptual thing,” but Swift chose to release “…Ready for It?” as a single instead. The director also noted that while the video was completely shot, there are no visual effects, as the decision to shoot the “…Ready for It?” video came rather quickly.

But Swifties shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing the video anytime soon. Back in May, Swift shared an open letter to her website revealing that she had purchased the master recordings of her first six albums, including Reputation. Though she previously had released new recordings of her albums Fearless, Red, Speak Now, and 1989 — she said she hadn’t “even re-recorded a quarter of” Reputation.

“The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,” she wrote. “All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off.”

While Reputation (Taylor’s Version) is still up in the air, Swift did tell fans that they can expect a moment in the future “for the unreleased vault tracks from that album to hatch.”
