The man who waved a combination Palestine and Sudan flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show has been arrested.
The Louisiana State Police announced the news in a press release, saying Zül-Qarnain Nantambu is facing charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by interruption of a lawful assembly. The 41-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday.
The incident took place on Feb. 9 at the Superdome in New Orleans. Nantambu performed as an extra in Lamar’s halftime show, but at one point, he brandished the flag, which read “Sudan” and “Gaza,” and ran around with it until security caught him. Following his protest, the NFL banned Nantambu for life.
The NFL issued a statement following his arrest.

“We commend the Louisiana State Police for its diligence and professionalism in this matter,” the league told Complex. “We take any attempt to disrupt any part of an NFL game, including the halftime show, very seriously and are pleased this individual will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. In addition to the ongoing criminal case, the NFL banned the individual from attending any NFL games or events.”
After his arrest warrant was issued, Nantambu surrendered himself to the police.
The investigation is still ongoing, authroties said.
