New Milford, New Jersey? Even stars have an origin story. Suzi, a multi-faceted talent, hails from a town most people have never heard of. A self-made powerhouse, she has done what many artists only dream of. She’s managed to work with artists like Jim Jones, Tory Lanez and Fetty Wap and had her music streamed millions of times.

On her debut single, “Nobody’s Better,” she partnered with Fetty Wap and got 93 million YouTube views. That catapulted her onto the global stage—but there’s more. Suzi isn’t just a singer. She’s a one-woman creative factory, producing her own vocals, visuals and everything in between. Her recent résumé includes a feature on Jim Jones’ “That Sh#t Still in Harlem” and Tory Lanez with “SPECIAL4U.” But, she also has a fresh new EP Hit the Target. She’s not waiting for a seat at the table, she’s building her own.

We caught up with Suzi at a recent event, where she shared what drives her, how she handles TikTok-era pressures and what’s next on her radar.

    AllHipHop: Tell us about yourself.

Suzi: I’m an independent recording artist from New Jersey and New York. I dropped my first song “Nobody’s Better” featuring Fetty Wap 10 years ago. And you might’ve heard me again on Jim Jones’s “That Sh#t Still in Harlem.”

AllHipHop: That’s big. What was it like working with Jim and Fetty?

Suzi: So fun. Both of them are incredibly humble and kind. It’s inspiring to see people who’ve made it still be down to earth and super supportive. Shout out to both of them for real.

AllHipHop: Especially Jim, since he’s not from Jersey.

Suzi: Exactly! But the energy was there either way. Fetty repped Jersey, but Jim showed mad love.

AllHipHop: You’re in a crowded game. Everyone’s got a mic, camera and a dream. What makes you different?

Suzi: I do everything. I’m an audio engineer, songwriter, vocal producer, video editor, graphic designer. I even create my own content. I’m obsessed with creating. That first song did over 360 million streams worldwide. I think that speaks for itself.

AllHipHop: Wow. That’s next level. Who inspired you coming up?

Suzi: So many! I came up in that hybrid era. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, then JLo and Britney, and more recently Ariana Grande and Kehlani. Just so many artists who do it all. I always gravitated toward the ones who were multi-dimensional.

AllHipHop: You mentioned Jersey. What part?

Suzi: North Jersey. A small town called New Milford. No one ever knows it—we’re right near Hackensack. But now? I’m putting it on the map.

AllHipHop: You definitely are. Any new music out?

Suzi: Yup! I just dropped an EP called Hit the Target. It’s available on all platforms. And I’ve got a lot more music coming this year, so stay locked in.

AllHipHop: The industry’s changed a lot. It’s TikTok this, algorithm that. How do you feel about all that?

Suzi: I’m not gonna lie. I don’t love that we have to constantly crank out content. It takes time away from what I really want to do: be in the studio, making music. That’s what fuels me. But I get it. It works for some folks, and I respect that. It’s just not my favorite part of the game.

AllHipHop: I feel you. I got some advice today about making content easier with AI involved.

Suzi: AI is here whether we like it or not. If it helps us, cool. But I hope we use it the right way. It shouldn’t replace the art.

AllHipHop: Facts. Any last words for the people?

Suzi: Just have fun! And stay tapped in—it’s Suzi!
