Serayah reflected om delivery process of her first child with her fiancé, Joey Badass.
On Tuesday (August 5), the BMF star posted the first installment of her pregnancy story on Snapchat nearly two months after giving birth. Joey also has a seven-year-old daughter, Indigo Rain, from a previous relationship.
“I’ve thought of a million ways to do this video and I don’t think there’s any perfect way to do it. So I’mma just say this: I am a mommy now!” Serayah began in the video.
“We have had a perfect little human being and he is just the best. I love him so much,” she continued, calling him a “perfect addition” to their “ever-growing family.”
The actress-singer said that she’s still “finding” her space in motherhood as it comes to her career.
“Eleven months ago, I find out that I am pregnant and I’m on set for a movie that is not out yet that comes out in September. And it’s called Ruth and Boaz.”
When Serayah found out that she was pregnant, she began to be “so sick” on set. “I’m so excited and a little nervous to see the movie because of that,” she continued.
“I made it through the film and I was like, Oh my God, I’m pregnant. Something that I always wanted. I’ve always wanted to be a mommy.”
Serayah admitted that being newly pregnant is “not the easiest thing to navigate” and called it a “very confusing time.”
“Although, like I said, this was something I’ve always wanted, something I was sure of, I also had a partner that was supportive who also wanted this with me at this time,” she said. “I just want to speak for the women in this position that it’s okay to kinda fall at your knees and be like, What does this mean?”
The former Empire star acknowledged that she felt limitations abot whether she’d be fit as a mother or book another acting gig, but encouraged new moms not to put an “ultimatum” on themselves.
After explaining more sickness symptoms that she felt throughout her pregnancy, she expressed learning that “it is okay to take time for you.”
“And the anxiety I felt from being so still taught me everything I needed to know about moving forward in life,” she said.

Serayah went on to detail that she opted to have a natural water birth and went to birthing classes and got a doula in preparation.
“About six months, maybe, I learned that my son was breached. So breach means that the baby inside of the womb is head-up but down.”
To naturally adjust her son, Serayah says she went to a chiropractor and began doing “stretches” and “inversions.”
“I did everything under the freaking umbrella that I could to naturally turn my son,” she said.“I was very determined and very confident that baby would turn.”
As the due date approached, doctors warned Serayah that closer to 38 weeks, she would need to schedule a cesarian, or c-section. “I’ve never had surgery on my body. It sounded terrifying to me,” she admitted.
“So I was racing this hard reality of, Alright, I’m here. Obviously we can’t go backwards.”
The entertainer said two options that she began to consider were an ECV [External Cephalic Version] to manually turn her baby to a head-down position, although she was told there would be a “sixty-percent chance” of success.
“I was determined to make this happen,” she said. “But, just like all things in life, lessons are to be learned.”
Upon doing the ultrasound for the ECV, a doctor found that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby twice and discouraged Serayah from doing the procedure.
“Immediately, I was overwhelmed with emotion and just started crying. I knew that this meant I was having a cesarean.”
While we wait for the second part of Serayah’s story, in a post-birth update on Instagram, she revealed that she and Joey are newly engaged. ““My fiancé has held it DOWN you hear me !” she wrote in the caption about the rapper-actor.
