Meek Mill says he’s aiming to do “something they’ve never seen before” as an independent artist.
During a recent appearance on Raud‘s stream, as seen below, Meek was asked to give an update on when he’s planning to roll out new music. According to the two-time Grammy nominee, whose most recent solo full-length was released through Atlantic and Maybach Music Group back in 2021, fans can expect “a whole project” at some point this summer.
“I’m independent, so I had to learn this shit my own,” Meek said. “I was getting 13 percent for, like, 13 years. Now I’m getting 100 percent of this shit.”
Meek went on to say that he “might” give 10 percent to certain partners, all while reiterating the freedom of his current status.

“Now I’ve got all ownership so I had to take over,” he said. “And now we’ve got it. I’m about to do something else, something they’ve never seen before. I’ll talk about it when we do it.”
In 2022, Meek publicly criticized Atlantic Records, claiming to fans that the label “put nothing into” what was then his most recent release, Expensive Pain. More recently, Meek reflected on industry woes at large amid coverage of Drake’s legal action against Universal Music Group.
“Label told me don’t drop nothing,” Meek told fans in January, adding that Roc Nation alum Shari Bryant “backed me herself” surrounding the rollout of his DC4 mixtape in 2016.
Meek’s Heathenism EP, including the Future-featuring “Giving Chanel,” was released in February of last year under Meek’s own Dream Chasers label. “Survivor’s Guilt” with G Herbo, which arrived in May, was also a Dream Chasers-only release.
