Neural DSP has announced the launch of CorOS 3.2.0 and Cortex Control 1.3.0, delivering another round of powerful updates and plugin compatibility to the award-winning Quad Cortex floorboard amp modeler and its companion desktop controller.
Users now benefit from full Quad Cortex compatibility for three of Neural DSP’s most popular plugins: Archetype: Cory Wong X, Archetype: Nolly X, and Parallax X, alongside new tools, workflow enhancements, and system refinements designed to keep musicians in full creative control.
“CorOS 3.2.0 and Cortex Control 1.3.0 represent the next step in the ongoing evolution of Quad Cortex and our plugin ecosystem,” said Francisco Cresp, Neural DSP CPO and Co-Founder. “We’ve introduced sought-after features and rebuilt several elements to improve efficiency, accessibility, and reliability – while continuing to evolve how plugins integrate with hardware. Overall, these are truly generational upgrades.”
The Quad Cortex remains the world’s most powerful floorboard amp modeler, trusted by top touring and recording artists for its unrivaled sound quality, real-time flexibility, and ever-expanding feature set. The new updates reinforce Neural DSP’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of digital guitar processing.
What’s New: CorOS 3.2.0
Plugin Compatibility for Archetype: Cory Wong X, Archetype: Nolly X, and Parallax X: If you have licenses for any of these plugins, their devices can now be loaded onto your Quad Cortex.
New features include a Live Tuner, a Metronome, and ‘Looper X’ updates. Looper X enhancements include Pre-Roll: when activated, the Pre-Roll counts in with the metronome for a specified number of bars before transitioning to the next state, such as RECORD or PLAY. Loop recording length can now be customized from 1 to 32 bars.
Sidechain improvements bring a new “Follow Input” setting for Sidechain-compatible devices. When enabled, this option automatically detects and follows the active input signal from the Input blocks on The Grid, helping prevent unintended muting when switching between input sources.
General UX improvements include dimmed LED settings that can now be assigned to all Modes, with adjustable brightness levels for greater customization. Additionally, Previous/Next navigation arrows have been added to the Scene Editor, allowing quick editing of scene names and colors within the same preset.
What’s New: Cortex Control 1.3.0
New features include a Metronome (accessible via the TEMPO tab in the bottom utility bar) and Automatic Preset IR Import: when importing plugin presets via Cortex Control, any associated user impulse responses (IRs) are automatically transferred and imported to the Quad Cortex.
Cortex Control 1.3.0 also introduces its own UX enhancements, including a new “Follow Input” setting for Sidechain-compatible devices, and dimmed LED settings that can now be assigned to all Modes, with adjustable brightness levels for greater customization. In addition, various minor bug fixes and performance improvements have been integrated.
“These are updates built around the way musicians actually work,” concluded Douglas Castro, Neural DSP CEO and Co-Founder. “Every improvement in CorOS 3.2.0 and Cortex Control 1.3.0 is about keeping artists in the creative zone – making it easier to shape your sound, move between plugins and hardware, and stay focused on the music.”
