Lil Wayne’s son, Lil Novi, sparked intense debate after claiming his father wrote “most” of Drake’s music, reigniting ghostwriting rumors.

Lil Wayne’s son, Lil Novi, stirred up a storm on social media after claiming during a recent interview that his father wrote “most” of Drake’s music, reigniting long-standing rumors about Drake using ghostwriters and sparking heated online debate.

When asked to choose between Lil Wayne and Drake as the better artist, Lil Novi didn’t hesitate.

“Lil Wayne,” he said in a clip that quickly made the rounds online. “My dad wrote most of his s###, so. On God, if it wasn’t for my pops, there wouldn’t be no Drake.”

He followed up with, “No disrespect to Drake. He hard now, but I’m saying… Come on, man. That’s not a question.”

The 14-year-old didn’t offer any proof or further context, but his comments lit up timelines, with many questioning the accuracy of his claim.

Some users pushed back, pointing out that Drake had been writing and releasing music before signing to Young Money in 2009. Others referenced past interviews where Lil Wayne himself praised Drake’s songwriting.

“This makes zero sense considering how different their rap style is,” one user wrote. “And Wayne said early on that he’d get inspiration from drakes writing and song ideas lol.”

“How does his dad write most of Drake s### when he doesn’t write his own s###,” added another. “The majority of Lil Wayne songs are off the top of the dome. He doesn’t even know how his dad makes his music.”

Lil Novi recently appeared alongside his father on “Mula Komin In,” a track from Tha Carter VI, which was released earlier this month. The album has faced criticism, with some listeners calling it underwhelming.

Over the weekend, Reginae Carter, Lil Wayne’s daughter, came to her father’s defense after a TikTok user labeled the album “trash.”

“You said Carter VI is trash. That’s fine,” she said in a video response. “But let me tell you something about my father and ‘Carter VI.’ This is what I hate about you, kids. The fact that y’all can’t get on TikTok and do a f###### dance to it, that don’t mean that it’s trash, babes Okay?”

She continued, “My dad was talking real s###. It’s stuff on that album that you can hear in 2K, in games, at f###### malls, at all type of stuff. It’s universal, my love.”
