Lil Durk and his legal team have alleged that the prosecution in his murder-for-hire case is relying on an untrustworthy FBI informant.
According to HipHopDX, Durk believed he should be released from jail before the trial, claiming that the informant had been providing false information to the prosecution.
“The government repeatedly cites allegations from a federal case out of Illinois where Mr. Banks has never been charged and never will be charged, despite the passage of over three years since the underlying incident,” Durkio’s attorney, Drew Findling, said in a statement, per the outlet.
“The government’s own exhibit reveals that the allegations pertaining to Mr. Banks are based primarily on information from a cooperating human source, ‘CHS 1,’ described in the affidavit as a paid FBI informant and former gang member with a criminal history.”

Findling also said that the government hasn’t proven that Durk is a flight risk or a danger to the public if he’s released on bail. The Chicago native has since proposed a $4.5 million bail packet, with $3 million in personal cash. He also basically offered to put himself on house arrest with around-the-clock security to watch him.
While prosecutors said that the bail wasn’t enough, the court hasn’t yet made a decision.
Last fall, Durk was accused of conspiring to murder Quando Rondo in 2022 in retaliation for the 2020 fatal shooting 2020 of King Von. Durk’s alleged revenge plot resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson at a gas station in Los Angeles.
Durk was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.
