Cloudmax 3 builds on previous versions as a plugin that brings texture, motion, and resonance together in a single intuitive interface.
In terms of texture, it features four parallel grain engines that deliver up to four grains of shimmer, stretch, and smear.
You can modulate and pitch-shift each of these independently, which means you can create extremely complex textures with as much tension/dissonance as you need.
There are three texture pitch modes: Dual (thick octave pairs), Snap (locked to specific intervals), and Free (continuous detune and microtonal possibilities).
Just as you can create complex textures, you can create intricate pitch combinations for more movement and tension.
Karanyi Sounds designed the interface and workflow to be as intuitive as possible, and one example is the quick-drag functionality of the designable LFO. You can also move the entire engine from a single macro, which makes a real difference when building distinct and impactful transitions.
One notable upgrade from the last version is a completely rebuilt reverb section. Karanyi Sounds has always done reverb well, especially for longer, cinematic or ethereal tails.
