What’s going on with Justin Bieber?
That is the perpetual question fans are asking as the 31-year-old “Peaches” singer makes one concerning move after another.
Bieber’s use of Instagram sparks a lot of the talk, especially his most cryptic or emotional posts, and his disheveled appearance and gaunt frame have also ignited concerns about his well-being. He has clapped back at one fan over it.
But now Bieber is raising eyebrows again, this time by changing his Instagram handle.
It used to be @justinbieber and now, mysteriously, it’s @lilbieber.
Bieber had the former Instagram name for years, compounding the confusion. He hasn’t explained the reason for the change.
However, he gave a big clue when he used the phrase alongside a post of photos showing him with his young son Jack Blues, whom he shares with wife Hailey Bieber. Well, fans only see a glimpse of Jack Blues because Justin rarely shows his son fully, which makes sense for privacy purposes. But that raises the possibility that the new handle is in honor of the boy.
The photo post has more than 1.4 million likes.
Justin also posted a photo on Thursday, June 27, showing his son crawling, and he’s posted recent pictures showing him enjoying outdoor activities.
Fans were generally confused about the change, but shared different theories on social media, with some defending it.
“Y’all might not get it, but I feel like he’s trying to reconnect with his inner child,” theorized one fan on X.
“Fame forced him to grow up too fast, he didn’t get to have a real childhood. That kind of success is both a blessing and a curse. He’s just the little Bieber we used to know,” another person wrote.
