HyperspaceCore originates from JMG Sound’s flagship reverb plugin, Hyperspace, and serves as a successor to the discontinued Hyperspace CM (Computer Magazine Edition).
Hyperspace has been around for years now, but a free version will be welcome news to anyone put off by the hefty price tag.
Hyperspace developed a reputation as a reverb plugin that goes far beyond any conventional reverb plugin (not just a cool name, then).
It covers most (if not all) conventional reverb sounds and ventures deeper into otherworldly spaces, textures, and characters.
Although Hyperspace makes light work of simple reverb tasks, it’s a plugin for those who want to experiment with sound design.
HyperspaceCore doesn’t offer the depth of the paid version, but it shares the same core character, which is ideal for creating something unique rather than run-of-the-mill.
I know plugin managers are the bane of many producers’ lives, so before I go on, I should mention that, although free, Hyperspace Core requires a license, which you can activate via the UnitedPluginsManager. You’ll also have to create an account if you don’t already have one.
The plugin is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows.
One of the standout features of HyperspaceCore is the XY Pad, which enables you to morph algorithm parameters, such as delay times, frequencies, and internal routings. You can automate the XY Pad to create evolving spaces and textures.

The Smart Randomization function offers three levels of randomization, enabling you to control the degree of deviation from your current settings.
The color-coded interface is straightforward; the Blue section contains the main reverb parameters, including control over early and late reflections, as well as the balance between parallel and serial routing.
The Orange section features two built-in effects for more experimental reverbs: Multiply and Inertia.
Multiply creates lots of delayed copies of the early reflections, and Inertia extends the length of the reverb decay.
The Green section contains processors, Focus, and Duck, which help the reverb sit better in your mix.
HyperspaceCore is a reverb that allows for creative experimentation and provides a significant preview for anyone considering the paid version.
If you’re looking for something more traditional, you can get Wave Alchemy’s Pulse PCM60 free with any purchase at Plugin Boutique throughout June 2025. If you’re not sure what to buy to trigger the freebie, you could pick up Melodyne 5 Essential with over 70% off.
