Indianapolis rapper Big Ro6 is experiencing a major breakout moment thanks to his pirate-inspired track “Decisions,” which has gained significant online traction months after its initial release.
The song originally dropped on Oct. 13, 2024, and Big Ro6 quietly built momentum through a series of live performances, including a standout appearance on The Debut’s YouTube channel. That performance, uploaded on Nov. 6, has since racked up more than 230,000 views.
The song maintained steady attention into the new year, but everything changed following the release of Ryan Coogler’s hit film Sinners last month. The movie’s spotlight on Black and Irish music drew new ears to the Gaelic-inspired, pirate-tinged cadence in Big Ro6’s delivery.
Capitalizing on the growing buzz, Big Ro6 dropped the official music video for “Decisions” last month, which garnered 2.7 million views and helped amplify social media chatter. Things picked up even more on May 14 when TikTok creator @kye.phlow launched a dance challenge that has since generated more than 109,300 views.

Dubbed a “hood shanty” and “pirate rap,” “Decisions” has become inescapable online, and the numbers continue to back it up. According to Luminate, the song pulled in 121,000 official on-demand U.S. streams from May 2 to 8. That total surged by 713% to over 986,000 the following week.
During the May 9 to 12 weekend, the track earned 119,000 streams. One week later, that number skyrocketed by over 1,176% to more than 1.5 million listens. As of press time, “Decisions” had racked up over 3.1 million streams on Spotify and was No. 2 on the platform’s viral chart.
With its unique sound, viral traction, and streaming success, “Decisions” is shaping up to be Big Ro6’s biggest moment yet.
