Plugin Boutique is currently offering Monark by Native Instruments at a hefty 80% discount until September 30th.
Monark is Native Instruments’ take on the legendary Minimoog synth, and it’s long been one of my favorite emulations of this iconic instrument.
There’s no shortage of Minimoog clones on the market, both in software and hardware form, but Monark always stood out to me with its raw sound (and I mean raw) and a beautifully designed interface that captures the simplicity and elegance of the original.
It’s monophonic, just like the real thing, and the stripped-down layout makes it easy to dial in thunderous Moog basses, rich leads, and everything in between.
It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Just like the real Minimoog, it has limitations, but it simply nails what made the original so legendary in the first place.
One thing I’ve always loved about Monark is how “alive” it sounds. The oscillators are punchy and full, the filter is incredibly smooth, and there’s just the right amount of analog drift and imperfection. It’s that kind of subtle unpredictability that makes every note feel expressive.
Here’s the thing. I own the Moog Minitaur, and it’s my go-to hardware synth for fat analog basses. But when I’m working in the box, my next favorite choice is Monark.
Another big plus is that it runs in the free Reaktor Player, so there’s no need to purchase anything else to get started.
Oh, and speaking of Reaktor, if you’re looking for something more modern than a Minimoog emulation, check out NI Razor. It’s another one of my favorites that’s currently on sale. It’s fantastic for futuristic, digital sounds.
If you’ve been eyeing the current “free with any purchase” deal on UVI’s ReLayer at Plugin Boutique, this is a killer combo. Grab Monark for just $25, and you’ll get UVI’s excellent delay plugin for free. That’s two premium tools for the price of a budget plugin.

If you want a solid go-to monosynth in your toolkit, Monark delivers tons of classic analog warmth and has a gorgeous interface. It might not have every tweakable extra found in other synths, but when it comes to core sound quality, it’s hard to beat.
Monark is compatible with macOS and Windows and runs in VST, AU, and AAX formats via the free Reaktor Player. The 80% discount is valid until September 30th, 2025, exclusively at Plugin Boutique.
