Mammoth from Aurora DSP, a bass plugin that I’m sure any metalheads among us are already familiar with, is free for a limited time via Instagram.
But before we get into it, let’s go through the offer because time is of the essence with this freebie.
In celebration of Mammoth’s sixth anniversary, Aurora DSP is giving away a number of free licenses on Instagram.
A free license entitles you to the full version of Mammoth (usually $79); it’s not a trial version, and there’s no catch.
But there are a few caveats.
The first is that it’s a limited-time offer that ends on February 8, 2026, which is right around the corner.
The second is that it’s a limited drop, with licences dished out on a first-come, first-served basis.
To claim a free license, follow these steps:
- Comment MammothMonth on the original promotion Instagram post.
- Follow Aurora DSP on Instagram
- Check your DMs for download instructions.
That’s it, easy, but get in quick.
Mammoth is an all-around toolkit to help your bass sound and sit right in the mix, with a strong emphasis on metal music.
In other words, it’s ideal when you have a very busy track, and you want the bass to drive it, not get lost in it.
The first cool thing about Mammoth is the parallel two-band architecture. Rather than just making your metal bass louder and more aggressive, you have a crossover control (X-Over 20Hz to 800Hz split), which allows you to preserve low-end clarity while distorting the top.
The Bass maximizer knob compresses and fattens your signal, and the built-in EQ lets you find the right balance.
The plugin offers four distinct Drive channels and three bass cabinet sims.
You can also use the IR Loader to load custom IRs from your drive.
If your sound is almost perfect, but not quite, the Growl knob can add a touch more attitude.
If a little attitude isn’t enough, use the Mammoth knob for untamed aggression.
If you want to add Mammoth to your collection, act fast!
