Mase is supposedly considering going to Diddy’s upcoming trial.
On the latest episode of the It Is What Is podcast, Mase, along with co-hosts Cam’ron, and Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson, floated the idea about attending Sean “Diddy” Combs’ upcoming trial on sex trafficking charges.
“I wanna put it out to the fans. I’ll let the fans vote on it unless you wanna vote on it,” Mase said at the one-minute, 35-second mark in the video above. “They’re asking me to come to the Diddy trial, You think I should go this week?”
“It’s up to you, I don’t know your relationship,” Cam replied, making everyone at the table laugh considering the complicated history between Mase and Diddy.
Mase said that several people reached out about a possible courtroom appearance, saying, “I was trying to figure out a way I could go at least a day.”
Cam’ron then questioned his absence at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards where he performed a medley of hits alongside his children before being awarded the Global Icon Award.
“Why you ain’t go to the MTV Lifetime Achievement Award when he won that?” Cam said, while once again making his co-hosts laugh. “Because I see his son performing all y’alls parts on the song. Why you didn’t go to that?”
“How do you feel about that … when somebody else wear they hat to the back, dress like you, and start spinning around on stage?” Cam added.
“I think it’s flattering,” Mase simply responded.
The conversation eventually reared back to whether or not they would attend Diddy’s trial, with Cam saying, “If you going, I’m going … Just me randomly going? Nah, I ain’t going by myself.”
Needless to say, there’s been years of tension between Mase and Diddy since he signed with Bad Boy Records in the early ‘90s, including disputes about his publishing rights which he regained in August 2023.
On Thursday (May 1), Diddy confirmed in Manhattan federal court that he rejected a plea deal offered by prosecutors, according to Reuters. Instead, he will face trial next week on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Jury selection is underway, with in-person questioning beginning May 5 and opening statements set for May 12.
Diddy could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted on all five criminal counts. He has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
