Developer Sonuscore has released Elysion Elements, a free hybrid synth library for Kontakt Player.
Sonuscore has been a regular source of free cinematic and orchestral sounds over the years, and now we can add Elysion Elements to the mix.
Another plus point for these libraries is that they are compatible with the free Kontakt Player.
Elysion Elements is the free version of the premium Elysion 2, which is currently available for £89, which is less than half price (offer valid via Sonuscore at the time of writing – July 16, 2026).
The hybrid nature of the library comes from “synthetic sources, treated with orchestral sampling methodology.”
In other words, we get these cinematic synth sounds with the expressive interaction of a real-world instrument.
Sonuscore sampled every sound across multiple velocity layers to capture the contrasting timbres between playing soft and hard.
So, when you dig in a bit more, Elysion Elements reacts to dynamics/velocity with a more organic shift in character, rather than purely adjusting the volume.
I know the word cinematic can be overused when describing sounds and libraries; however, in the broad sense of any sound that needs to evoke more complex emotions than typical mainstream music, I think this kind of expression is vital.
I especially like the performative aspect of controlling character shifts through velocity, rather than just loading a patch that evolves over time. It feels more intuitive and authentic.
The free version features the same built-in FX engine, morphable parameters, and arpeggiators as the paid version. The difference between the two is that the free version includes 30 themes, while the paid version includes 400+ themes.
Themes are split into four categories:
- Animated – rhythmic/melodic arp-based
- Pad – evolving textures
- Hit – percussive impacts
- Pulse – driving rhythmic patterns
Each theme is named after a planet or interstellar object with some reference to its core character.
For example, Mars The Warmonger is aggressive with distortion, saturation, and rough edges all over.
Terra Source Of Life is warm and organic.
And so on.
Sonuscore libraries are always worth checking out, especially if you’re into film scores or ambient music.
