Tom Wolfe and Luftrum have released Luftrum x Wolfe, a free preset pack for Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3.
The release celebrates five years of Tom Wolfe’s Synth Vault, the free monthly preset club that launched in July 2021. To mark the anniversary, Wolfe teamed up with Luftrum on a small but very focused pack of ten Omnisphere 3 presets.
If you are into atmospheric sound design, this is a collab you don’t want to miss. Tom Wolfe and Luftrum both live in that cinematic, ambient, textural world, but they approach it from slightly different angles.
And what we’re getting as a result is a wonderful free pack built around delicate keys, evolving pads, and rich soundscapes.
Luftrum x Wolfe is available exclusively through Synth Vault. It is free for members and will stay in the archive permanently, so this is not a limited-time download.
The only requirement is that you need Spectrasonics Omnisphere 3 to use the presets. If you already own Omnisphere and like slow-moving textures, emotional keyboard patches, and cinematic layers, this should be an easy one to grab.
Synth Vault itself is also worth mentioning. Members get 20 new presets every month, split across four groups: five for Arturia Pigments, five for Spectrasonics Omnisphere, five for a different U-he synth, and five for a different Wildcard synth.
Past Wildcard synths have included Vital, Serum, Absynth, Pendulate, and others. The archive now includes more than 1,170 presets, and the club has grown to over 11,000 members.
I love projects like this because they are a good reminder that synths are an almost limitless source of inspiration. A well-made preset can be a starting point for a track, the secret ingredient of a sound effect, or, at the very least, a useful way to understand how another sound designer thinks.
Tom Wolfe is a British sound designer and award-winning independent film composer whose presets have been used by film, game, and record producers. Luftrum is a Danish boutique sound design brand known for ambient, cinematic, and atmospheric presets, soundsets, and sample libraries.
