Glitchedtones is offering 808 Vault, a collection of 100 808 one-shots for trap, drill, rage, and hip-hop production, as a free download until the end of May.
The pack is listed at €0 on the Glitchedtones website, and it includes 100 WAV files for use in any DAW or sampler that can load standard audio samples.
808 Vault was obviously made for modern bass-heavy production, with sounds for trap, UK drill, rage, phonk, and related styles I’ve probably never heard of.
And by the way, I think sample packs like this are a good reminder that simple tools are sometimes the best for music production. We are used to large virtual instruments and multi-gigabyte sound libraries, but you don’t really need any of that to make a beat.
Sometimes I just want a folder of good 808 bass sounds that you can drag into a sampler or directly into your DAW and start working with. That is definitely quicker than loading a big bass instrument, messing with articulations, browsing presets, and tweaking the effects instead of focusing on the actual bassline.
The product page describes 808 Vault as a curated set of processed one-shots rather than a random folder of sub hits.
The included WAVs cover clean subs, distorted and saturated 808s, shorter, punch-focused hits for faster patterns, longer tails for slides and pitch movement, and harmonically rich tones that work well on smaller speakers.
That last part is super important when working with 808s. A clean sub might feel huge on monitors or headphones, but if there is not enough harmonic content, it will absolutely disappear on smaller playback systems.
So, it’s good to have some production-ready 808 one-shots with the right amount of saturation that can be placed in a beat without adding much processing.
Glitchedtones says the samples are designed to work with pitch editing, glide techniques, distortion chains, clipping, saturation, and layering.
So you are not getting a complex instrument with modulation pages and built-in effects, but I like that. It is a simple WAV pack for producers who want quick 808 options without a large download or too many extra settings.
808 Vault includes 100 processed 808 one-shots in WAV format. Since these are standard audio files, they should work in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and other major DAWs and samplers.
