Venomode has released an update to phrase arpeggiator that users craft expressive sequences from MIDI chords. Version 2.0.1 of Phrasebox fixes an error when attempting to import non-V1 presets, increases text/background contrast, and optimizes some GUI rendering.
With its DAW-like piano roll, Phrasebox gives you detailed control over playback, far beyond traditional step-based arpeggiators. Notes you play are mapped onto the editor’s rows using customisable rules, letting you select notes by pitch, timing, velocity, or at random. You can also add static notes with a fixed pitch.
Each phrase can have unlimited rows, each with its own rule for note selection. Modifiers like transposition and MIDI channels allow layered, complex sequences.
Available for Windows, Mac and Linux (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), Phrasebox is on sale at Plugin Boutique and from the Venomode store for £49 GBP until July 29th, 2025 (regular £69 GBP). The update is free for existing users.
