Oasis wants you to know your secrets are safe at any of their concerts in light of Coldplay‘s recent “kiss cam” controversy.
During the band’s concert in Manchester, England on Sunday (July 20), frontman Liam Gallagher addressed the crowd by asking, “Do we have any lovebirds in the house?”
“Don’t worry, we ain’t got any of that Coldplay, snidey fucking camera shit,” he continued as the crowd reacted. “It doesn’t matter to us who you’re fucking mingling with, or tingling with, or fingering with. None of our fucking business.”
Gallagher’s comments poked fun at the controversy surrounding Coldplay’s use of a “kiss cam” at their concert held at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts last Wednesday (July 16).
During the show, a couple’s uncomfortable reaction to being shown on the screen led to singer Chris Martin to comment, “Either they’re having an affair of they’re just very shy.”
The now-infamous moment quickly went viral and inspired reactions all over social media. But it also had real-life consequences for the parties involved.
Without naming anyone in the footage, the tech company Astronomer announced an internal investigation while reminding the public that its “leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”
Shortly afterward, Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was placed on leave but later resigned.
On Monday (July 21), Pete DeJoy, who stepped in as interim CEO, acknowledged the situation in a statement, saying, “Over the weekend, I stepped into the role of interim CEO at Astronomer, a company that I’ve proudly poured my entire professional life into helping build.”
He added, “The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter. The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name.”
