Bansaw Crown has released Super Scale, a MIDI scale and harmony processor plugin for macOS and Windows. It’s currently on sale for $19.99 (regular price $39.99).
Super Scale is designed to make working with complex scales and harmonies more intuitive. It lets you lock your MIDI input to one of 52 included scales and shift between them in real time using a simple rotary selector.
You can also quickly reharmonize entire progressions without touching a piano roll, which makes it a useful tool for songwriting or live performance.
The plugin’s interface centers around a visual keyboard, scale selector, and modulation controls. You can activate pitch, mod wheel, and harmony modulation via LFOs, adding subtle movement or dramatic shifts. There’s also a Humanize slider for adding natural imperfections to timing and velocity.
While most other MIDI tools focus more on chord triggering or theory guidance, Super Scale feels more like a MIDI effects unit for creative improvisation. I could see it being especially useful for electronic and cinematic music, where scale modulation can play a big role in setting mood and tension.

One thing I loved the most when testing Super Scale is how immediate it feels. You don’t have to dive deep into menus to get results, and the ability to sync scale settings across tracks helps when working with layered instruments.
Super Scale is available in VST3, CLAP, and AAX formats for Windows, and VST3, CLAP, AAX, and AU formats for macOS (Universal Binary for Apple Silicon and Intel). It requires macOS 13 or later and Windows 10 or later. Note: it’s not compatible with Mixcraft DAW. No iLok required.
You can get it now for $19.99 during the intro sale.
