Jennie took on the wings of death in the latest episode of Hot Ones—and it left her panicking.
The K-pop superstar was the latest guest on Thursday’s episode of the Sean Evans-hosted show where celebrities eat spicy wings.
“In my daily life, I have … no spice in my life,” the 29-year-old Blackpink singer said at the beginning of the episode. “I don’t like spicy food or anything to do with spice. If anything, I like things plain. But here I am, facing my fear.”
Jennie kicked off the episode calmly and in control. After the second wing, she said confidently, “I’m going to try my best and keep my calm. I’m not going to overreact over spice.”
All of that went out the window about 12 minutes into the video linked above after Jennie took a bite out of a wing dabbed with “Da Bomb” sauce.
From that moment onward, Jennie went into a full blown panic mode, pacing around the room and struggling to keep it together.
Further into the episode, Evans asked if Jisoo, the only member of Blackpink who has yet to be a guest on Hot Ones, would ever take on the challenge.
“One hundred percent because she is the one who taught me spicy,” Jennie said. “She’s the other you. Like, she made me eat spicy food with her ever since we were trainees … Jisoo-unnie, you should come on this show, you’re going to love it.”
Rosé was the first Blackpink member to come on to the show last November, followed by Lisa in February.
Jennie released her first solo album, Ruby, earlier this year featuring viral hits like “Mantra,” and “Like Jennie.” The album also included guest verses from Dua Lipa, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Childish Gambino, and Kali Uchis.
You can check out exclusive Ruby merch, including T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, and more at the Complex Shop.
