Coi Leray and Trippie Redd are officially parents, and new grandfather Benzino couldn’t be any happier.
The rap stars welcomed their baby girl, Miyoco, on Tuesday, marking a major life moment not just for them but Coi’s father Benzino, who is now a grandfather for the first time.
TMZ caught up with the former rapper shortly after the announcement, and Benzino could barely contain his excitement.
The proud granddad explained how excited he is for his daughter to experience motherhood and he is already dreaming of spoiling Miyoco, whose name means “beautiful child” or “blessed descendant” in Japanese. It’s a meaningful choice, considering Benzino named Coi after the elegant koi fish but with a “C.”
“It’s a blessing,” Benzino told TMZ. “Miyoco is carrying on a beautiful tradition.”
Coi and Benzino’s once-strained relationship has made headlines over the years, but Benzino said that her pregnancy helped mend old wounds.

“We’re in an amazing place right now,” he shared with TMZ, beaming with pride.
The family is growing fast, as Benzino revealed that his son is expecting a baby boy in August, which will make him a grandpa for the second time. Despite Coi and Trippie’s high-profile breakup, Benzino had nothing but love for the latter and his family.
“We’ve all matured,” he said. “It’s about the kids now.”
Coi is also ending her pregnancy chapter on a high note, having inked a new deal with Epic Records. Benzino praised label head Sylvia Rhone, saying he’s confident she’ll guide Coi’s next moves wisely.
As for Benzino himself, he’s staying busy with new music and Tubi film projects as, he joked, his grandkids will someday need Roblox money.
