Justin Bieber has brought a friendship with an unnamed individual to a close, calling them both a “pussy” and a “weirdo.”
Amid a series of Instagram updates on Father’s Day, Bieber shared a trio of screenshots showing an alleged text exchange with the person in question, who at one point is seen telling the Justice artist they are “lashing out” at them.
Earlier into the alleged text exchange, Bieber, who recently made headlines after inviting other artists to join him in the studio ahead of the rumored-to-be-imminent release of new music, argued “conflict is a part of relationship,” adding that not liking his anger equates to not liking him.
“My anger is a response to pain I have been [through],” Bieber wrote. “Asking a traumatized person not to be traumatized is simply mean.”
Later, Bieber declared the friendship, described by the singer as “short-lived,” to be “officially over.” Bieber also pointed out that he has no shortage of “good friends” already in his life who respect his “boundaries.”
The “pussy” distinction arrived via the third screenshot, with Bieber saying he gave the unnamed individual “the [benefit] of the doubt” at first.
“This confirms [you] were the pussy I always thought [you] were,” he said. “Please leave me alone now.”
When the unidentified former friend questioned being called a “pussy,” Bieber took the end of their relationship one step further.
“Blocking [you] now,” he added.
Taking to his Stories, Bieber continued, first with a more general-seeming message aimed at those who continue to ask if he’s “okay” as of late, this unnamed former friend included.
“Quit asking me if I’m okay,” he said. “Quit asking me how I’m doing. I don’t do that to you. Because I know how life is for all of us. It’s hard. Let’s encourage our people not project our insecurities onto one another. Your concern doesn’t come off as care. It’s just oppressive.”
In closing, Bieber appeared to get more specific, offering a parting shot of “weirdo.”
Soundtracking the update was Juvenile’s R. Kelly-sampling 2006 track “Rodeo,” off the New Orleans rapper’s Reality Check album.
As for the prospect of new music, nothing has been formally announced. Not yet, anyway. Bieber last delivered a full-length in 2021 with Justice, followed one month later by the Freedom EP.
There’s no denying that something new from Bieber would hit remarkably hard in 2025, with the response to his recent let’s-hop-in-the-studio-together invitation showing that not only is the demand astronomically high among fans but also among fellow artists. Drake, Big Sean, Kehlani, and more all publicly expressed interest in joining Bieber on this new chapter.
