Reason Studios has announced an update to its Reason 13 music production software. Version 13.3 includes bug fixes and improvements, further refinements to Reason’s new look, and the much-requested ability to use the Browser as a side panel.
The new browser in Reason 13 introduced categories, tags, and a wide range of enhancements for quickly exploring and navigating all the content in Reason. However, after release it became clear that the Browser window itself wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. You asked, we listened—with Reason 13.3, you can now switch between Window and Side Panel Browser with a single click, depending on what best suits your workflow. You can also set your preferred option as the default in Preferences for new songs.
Speaking of Preferences, that window has been completely redesigned in 13.3. With a cleaner, more intuitive layout that matches the rest of the program, it’s easier than ever to find the settings that matter to you. Several other parts of Reason have also been visually refreshed—dialogs, the on-screen keyboard, and other interface elements now feel fully integrated into Reason 13’s updated design.
Other highlights in Reason 13.3 include a visual upgrade for waveforms in the sequencer, and updated behavior of the Mixer, Rack, and Sequencer buttons to better match the F5, F6, and F7 shortcuts, making navigation quicker and more intuitive. More details on what’s new can be found in the release notes.
The update is free for Reason 13 users, and new customers can purchase a license from the Reason Studios store and at Plugin Boutique.
