DJ Akademiks has a bone to pick with Cam’ron and Mase.
The media personality fired back at the rappers after they defended their It Is What It Is co-host, Treasure Wilson.
“HEY @akademiks OUT OF ALL THE TWEETS YOU SEEN YOU DECIDED TO SAY SOMETHING BACK TO #STAT @treasurewilsxn WHY CAUSE WE POPPING, BUT THAT’s COOL, WE GONE MAKE THIS CLEAR & SIMPLE IT AIN’t GONE BE NO TYPE OF VIOLATING GOING ON ESPECIALLY WITH #STAT FAIR WARNING,” the pair captioned an Instagram post on Sunday, alongside a video of Wilson with Mace and a photo of her posing with Cam.
Their response came after Wilson defended Loren Lorosa, who found herself in a back-and-forth with Ak after saying he “lied” about the quality of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s performances on the Grand National Tour, among other things.
“Why is this man so angry?” Wilson wrote, “@LorenLorosa said you lied about numbers and that translates to all of this? Lmaooo. I think you need a vacay.”
Ak fired back: “Who r u? Literally? I’d violate but outta respect for cam n mase .. stay in a woman’s place Shordy.”
He then went on a long rant on his stream, prefacing it with his love for Cam and Mase before going in.
“When y’all are going through y’all personal back and forths with someone whose calling you out, or calling you a liar, or defaming you, people do comment on it. I’m not mad about somebody commenting about it. My thing is about you jumping in—almost picking sides,” Ak said.
He also revisited rumors that Mase was allegedly romantically involved with a trans woman in the 2000s.
“You ain’t seen n***as jump out there like, ‘Oh yeah, Mase is fucking…’ No. We just wanted to see what’s up … The woman called me a liar. I’m defending myself. Please don’t jump in and try to pick a side already.”
Ak and Lorosa’s feud started last week when she claimed that he “lied” about Lamar and SZA’s show. “Kendrick like that. Sza is fuckin performing her as off. The show is fire,” Lorosa wrote in response to a tweet from MetLife Stadium about the two artists’ back-to-back sold-out shows.
“BITCH WAT I LIE BOUT? FUCK U USING MY NAME IN A TWEET FOR CUZ U GOT SOME FREE TICKETS,” Ak wrote in response.
Wilson caught wind of the beef when an X user called Ak out for speaking to Lorosa in a derogatory manner.
“N***A FCK ANY N**A MAN ANIMAL CHILD PERSON ALIEN WHO SPEAK DOWN ON ME,” said in response to the X user. “STOP PLAYING WITH ME. DAT BITCH SHOULDNT MENTION A FUCKING GOAT LIKE ME. SHE A FUCKING LIBRARY ATTENDANT.. ALL SHE DO IS READ A SHEET! BIG AK AINT IN UR CALIBER.”
After Lorosa’s initial comments, Ak took to his stream, saying she had 24 hours to explain what he lied about.
She subsequently outlined her argument on X, pushing back against Ak’s claims that Kendrick fans don’t spend money on merch and that the crowd has low energy at shows. She also challenged Ak for saying Lamar “destroyed hip hop” but is also a “great performer”—a point he made on his stream in April.
“My boy rapping with no backing track. Some of y’all don’t know concerts. That boy rapping with no backing track. He’s dope,” Ak said last month, per HotNewHipHop.
“There’s no backing track, no hype man, and he’s rapping a seven-minute song. ‘Euphoria’ is like seven minutes and then he’s still gotta do other songs. It’s like bars. This gives me Jay-Z vibes, but he’s a better performer than Jay-Z. He is.”
It appears he hasn’t responded to Lorosa, though he did tweet—before her thread—”NEW OPP IDENTIFIED. LOCK IN.”
