The 12 Days of Soundtoys promotion starts today (December 8, 2025) and ends on December 19, 2025.

The first freebie from Soundtoys’ Christmas thank-you is Little PrimalTap, the little brother of the PrimalTap delay plugin.
Little PrimalTap (and Primal Tap) is inspired by one of the most highly regarded digital delay units, Lexicon’s Prime Time Model 93 (1978).
Little PrimalTap recreates the core character of Lexicon’s hardware classic, including the weird and wonderful Multiply knob.
The Multiply knob doubles the delay time with each step (up to 8X), while simultaneously halving the sample rate.
With this unusual feature, Little PrimalTap becomes more of an experimental effect than a basic delay.
In addition to the Multiply knob, you have a Time control, a time-dividing Adjust knob, and Input, Feedback, and Mix sliders.
Although you can keep things relatively tame if you choose, Soundtoys encourages lots of automation and the creation of otherworldly, evolving loops.
It gets really dirty, especially if you drive the Input harder, and if you’ve got automation delivering emphatic pitch-shifting, it’s wild.
Realistically, it’s a simple plugin that offers everything from lo-fi vibes to aggressively evolving sonic textures.
The experimental nature of this delay is exactly why forward-thinking bands like Steely Dan embraced the original hardware, back in the day. While on Steely Dan, Donald Fagen’s playing is an absolutely stellar free education in harmony.
Soundtoys gave us a few excellent discounts during the Black Friday madness, and capping off the year with six free plugins is a great way to go.
