Stove God Cooks laughed off some playful roasting from Alabama comedian Matt Mathews at a show in Chicago earlier this year.
A clip of the roasting in question, which was first shared to the comedian’s TikTok back in June (only to this week be ripped and shared to X without noting that it’s two months old), indeed shows the recent Clipse album guest being referred to as “Great Value Stevie Wonder” due to him wearing sunglasses inside the venue.
“Did you say it’s bright?” the Birmingham-born comedian asked. “Motherfucker, quit playing with me. Are you blind? You must be blind to have that necklace on. What the fuck? What is that? Did you get that from the pawn shop?”
When told that the chain in question is, of course, a stove, Mathews’ jokes continued.

“It’s a stove? Like a stove you cook ramen noodles on?” he said. “Okay, so that’s ugly as hell. But my question is, why you got these fucking sunglasses on? It ain’t fucking bright in here, bitch.”
Mathews later asked about the woman sitting beside the Reasonable Drought artist, joking about his necklace being “bigger than your ring because he’s blind” and “couldn’t see to get you a good one.” Elsewhere, another audience member’s reveal of being employed at LensCrafters spurred more jokes, as seen below.
Stove God Cooks, seen laughing in the clip, does not appear to have further addressed the Chicago Theatre moment in the months since it was first shared to social media.
