Soundtheory has announced the release of a new edition of its Kraftur differential power-shaping plugin.
Developed in response to user-requested phase compensation, Kraftur Focus has been designed for parallel processing applications. The plugin applies an additional phase alignment stage to the signal after the saturation stages, allowing for increased phase coherency between the processed and bypassed signal, while preserving the unique character of Kraftur’s saturation.
The original Kraftur intentionally uses minimum phase filters since they help to increase the statistically available headroom, while maintaining the energy of the signal.
Kraftur Focus involves a hybrid approach which realigns the phase of the signal after the saturation stage. This means that Kraftur Focus can be engaged for parallel processing, thus allowing it to be used as a send effect.
New features available in both editions include the ability to display a wide range of statistics – RMS, peak and peak hold values of both input and output signals as well as the Crest Factor Reduction. It is also now possible to emulate a band shift for single band processing by dragging on the single band’s transfer curve.
Kraftur Focus and the updated Kraftur 1.2 are available in a single download for $99 USD. In celebration of the update, a limited time 30% discount is offered on Kraftur and Gullfoss until July 10th, 2025. Current owners of Kraftur can upgrade to the new versions at any time for free.
