SKYLIFE has just released a percussion sample set taken from the rare MS 2600 NG synthesizer, a DIY project by Matthias Beeser.
The MS 2600 NG Synthesizer Percussion Sample Set contains 66 hand-crafted electronic one-shot drum sounds in Wav format (44.1kHz/24-bit, mono). In addition to the wave files, the original SampleRobot Project available for download so that users can edit and export the samples for their favorite software and hardware samplers. All samples can be used without restrictions.
The MS 2600 NG is a synthesizer based on the classic Arp 2600 architecture from the Seventies. It was designed and engineered by Matthias Beese who also extended the feature set with new modules like a sequencer, a wavetable oscillator and a multimode VCF.
Due to the analog nature of the MS 2600 NG and the high quality level of the components the synthesizer is capable of creating punchy percussion hits. All sounds were sampled with SampleRobot in semi-automatic mode (key-by-key recording with automatic transition detection).
This new download product is available directly via the SampleRobot website, no login required.
