At pointblank Recordings (PBR), we’re incredibly proud to celebrate the recent streaming milestones of three talented artists from our in-house label. As the only specialist music institute in London with its own record label, pointblank empowers students, alumni, and staff to reach new heights in their musical careers. Three of our artists – Leah Haworth, Dry Bones, and Sam The Zoologist have each achieved major Spotify milestones, showcasing the power of passion and the support of our community. Here’s a look at their achievements and what makes each artist shine.
Leah Haworth
Leah Haworth, our enchanting singer-songwriter and a pointblank student pursuing our BA (Hons) Music Business degree, has recently surpassed 300,000 streams on Spotify for her 2024 EP “Here in the Stars.” This tender, soft-folk EP captures the magic of new beginnings with its gentle acoustic ballads and heartfelt lyrics. Leah debuted her first single, “To The Moon and Back”, on pointblank Recordings, which has amassed over 100,000 streams. Her music balances simplicity with depth, reflecting a personal journey from adolescence to adulthood in every note. We couldn’t be prouder of Leah’s achievement; her success is a testament to her talent and the supportive environment at pointblank that nurtured her growth from student to emerging folk sensation.

Dry Bones
Dry Bones, our very own London-based reggae outfit, recently hit 100,000 streams on Spotify with their debut album “Babylon Prophecy”. This dynamic duo is uniquely composed of pointblank’s CEO Rob Cowan and Managing Director Jules Brookes, alongside reggae legends like Dennis Bovell, Carroll Thompson, and Phil Ramocon. With a philosophy rooted in love, respect, and deep appreciation for reggae’s origins, Dry Bones infuses authentic roots vibes into everything they create. Following the success of Babylon Prophecy, they even dropped a dub companion album, “Babylon Prophecy In Dub,” extending the album’s rich, dubwise journey. The triumph of Dry Bones isn’t just about numbers; it’s a celebration of true musicianship. Their accomplishment also highlights pointblank’s culture as a school run by musicians, for musicians. This ethos extends into the classroom, too, with Carroll Thompson and Phil Ramocon teaching on the BA (Hons) Music Production & Vocal Performance degree at pointblank. We’re thrilled to see Dry Bones thriving and sharing class A reggae with the world, all while exemplifying the creative spirit at the heart of pointblank.

Sam The Zoologist
Our quirky maestro Sam The Zoologist has been making big waves, recently crossing 100,000 Spotify streams on his latest EP “The Best You’ll Ever Have.” Sam, our recent graduate who pursued our BA (Hons) Music Production & Sound Engineering degree, blends nostalgic sounds with modern tales of love to create songs that are as catchy as they are heartfelt. In the past year alone, he released three singles, taking the social media world by storm with millions of views across TikTok and Instagram. His standout personality and songwriting skills have also earned him recognition on BBC Introducing, and he secured the No. 1 spot in the UK (and No. 3 globally) on the SubmitHub Indie/Alternative charts with one of his tracks. Sam’s rapid rise from the classroom to the charts embodies what pointblank is all about – turning passion and hard work into real-world success. We’re excited to keep supporting Sam on his musical journey and can’t wait to see what he conquers next!
