Olivia Rodrigo isn’t just the Gen-Z chart-topper who turned TikTok heartbreak into three Grammys. She’s apparently the “dreamiest boss” on the road, too.
On Monday, June 30, Rodrigo’s touring guitarist Daisy Spencer appeared on The StageLeft Podcast and revealed that the 22-year-old “drivers license” singer paid for free therapy for her entire Guts tour crew — both during the tour and in between legs.
“Olivia and [tour manager] Marty Hom made accessible and free therapy for all of the touring personnel,” Spencer, 31, said. “Honestly, that was one of the coolest things that has ever happened on tour.”
She added that the support came at the perfect time. “I had just kind of fallen off [therapy] for so long, and then suddenly I had this free resource of incredible therapists, and I utilized the crap out of that.”
Spencer added that the benefit helped her unpack childhood memories: “It’s been a gift for real… I’m doing baby Daisy a good justice.” She capped the praise by calling Rodrigo “literally the dreamiest boss of all time.”
Shortly after the episode aired, the internet wasted no time reacting.
“What an absolute queen. I love Gen Z’s advocacy for mental health in action 🙌❤️,” one person wrote on Instagram.

“FR? That’s amazing. I don’t think I’ve heard of such a thing before,” another added.
A third commenter, who claimed to “spend a lot of time with band touring parties,” called it “an excellent use of funds,” noting that life on the road comes with “no space, amorphous boundaries,” and the pressure of “making magic for thousands… with millions of dollars on the line.”
Rodrigo has been open about how much therapy has helped her personally. Her dad, Chris Rodrigo, is a family therapist, and she started going to therapy herself at 16. “That was a really big, life-changing moment,” she told CBS Sunday Morning in 2021.
And she’s not the only star making mental health a priority on tour.
Taylor Swift famously gave out nearly $200 million in bonuses during her Eras Tour, covering everyone from truck drivers and lighting techs to hair and makeup, dancers, and security, according to People. That number included more than $55 million in bonuses before she even wrapped the first North American leg in August 2023.
Swift, now 35, went on to play 149 shows across the globe, with her team confirming the tour brought in over $2 billion in ticket sales — the highest-grossing tour in history.
