Nick Cannon honored his late son Zen on what would have been his fourth birthday by sharing a heartfelt video from a hospital visit and lighting a candle in his memory.
The Masked Singer host posted the tribute on Instagram, remembering Zen, who passed away in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer at just five months old.
In the video, Cannon is seen quietly reflecting at a hospital and lighting a candle in Zen’s name.
“Today, we celebrate what would have been my son Zen’s fourth birthday. Though he was with us for a brief time, his light continues to inspire others through the work of the Zen’s Light Foundation,” Nick Cannon wrote in the caption.
Cannon shares Zen and daughter Halo, 2, with model and former partner Alyssa Scott. The couple revealed Zen’s diagnosis and death on The Nick Cannon Show in December 2021, just three months after doctors discovered the aggressive form of brain cancer.

In 2022, Cannon and Scott launched the Zen’s Light Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric healthcare and grief support for families.
Its mission is to “foster global excellence in hope, grief care and paediatric healthcare for families and children in need.”
“June 23rd will forever be a day of celebration. A beautiful lighting ceremony to honour the life of an Angel. Zen’s birth has now transformed into Zen’s Light,” Nick Cannon added in his post.
Nick Cannon, who is father to 12 children, has continued to use his platform to raise awareness about pediatric illness and grief care through the foundation’s work.
Zen would have turned four on June 23.
