Musical Sampling has introduced a new Kontakt sample library designed for composers, producers, and songwriters who need an expressive, attitude-heavy tenor saxophone in their tracks.
Midnight: Tenor Sax is built to capture the vibe of classic jazz clubs and the powerful, soaring melodies of 80s ballads, providing a versatile and emotional virtual instrument for a wide range of musical genres including jazz, pop, R&B, lo-fi, and film scoring.
Midnight: Tenor Sax is an attitude-heavy legato tenor sax library built for bold, expressive writing. The idea? A no-holds-barred instrument with all the bells and whistles – delivered in a single, playable patch.
We expanded on the programming techniques from our acclaimed Austin Saxes library, adding multiple mic positions (close, far), an even fuller-bodied performance, and a deeper integration of critical articulations. These include round robin sustains, slurred and tongued legato, glissando legato, short/long scooped attacks, selectable glissando attacks, short/long bend-down releases, and gliss-fall releases – each intuitively triggered by velocity or latch keys.
If you’re after a fun, versatile tenor sax that oozes swagger – yeah, this is the one.
Midnight: Tenor Sax for the full version of Kontakt 6.8.0 or higher is available for the introductory price of $59 USD until August 25th, 2025 (regular $89 USD). The offer is available at Best Service, Loot Audio, and from the Musical Sampling store.
