Minor Drama has released SendBlender, a free utility plugin designed to simplify parallel processing in your DAW.
It’s a streamlined mixing tool with a sleek, high-contrast black interface. It makes mixing easier if you’re juggling multiple parallel effects.
If you’ve ever built a complex FX bus and struggled to dial in just the right blend without constantly readjusting faders, SendBlender might be what you need.
It gives you a proper wet/dry mix knob for complex chains. This is something many DAWs don’t provide out of the box when using effects in parallel.
The plugin uses a clever sidechain-based routing method to allow for internal, sample-accurate dry/wet blending. Depending on how you set it up, either the wet or dry signal gets routed to the sidechain input, making it compatible with most DAWs.
You can choose from multiple crossfade curves (Linear, Equal Power, or Max Amplitude) and fine-tune your blend either by ear or by entering specific gain values.
I really like the GUI here. The digital-style font gives it a subtle retro vibe, while the white-on-dark design keeps everything easy to read without straining the eyes. It’s stylish but also not distracting, which is just what you want in a utility plugin.
If you want more control, the Pro version of SendBlender unlocks deeper features. You get a three-band cut-only EQ on the wet signal, which is perfect for carving out problematic frequencies without touching your dry tone.
It also includes a “dry boost” circuit that automatically compensates to maintain spectral balance, which is handy for getting precise, frequency-specific blends.
Additional perks in the Pro version include manual or auto makeup gain and optional 2x linear-phase oversampling to keep things smooth. The filters use modern TPT algorithms, which should mean clean results even during fast parameter changes.
SendBlender (standard version) is available as a free download for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU plugin formats. If you want to try the Pro version, there’s a fully featured 30-day trial available.
The Pro upgrade is currently on sale for $30 (regular price: $50), making it a solid investment if you want more control over parallel effects.
