Mariah Carey surprised her fans by quietly releasing the Type Dangerous remix EP, featuring contributions from Method Man, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza.
The legendary diva took to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday, July 11, to reveal the short but sweet song lineup. “Type Dangerous – The Remixes 🔥 Out Now!! Which one is your fave??” she wrote, before releasing the EP on Spotify.
Billboard notes that these songs are all remixes of “Type Dangerous,” the first single off of Carey’s as-yet-untitled 16th studio album. She also previously teased that “Type Dangerous,” which was released on June 6, is only the first of several singles set to hit the airwaves in the coming weeks.
The “Vision of Love” singer promised that her new album would have typical “Mariah ballads,” but that a “summery single” would be coming out soon, as well. The new album, whose release date has also not yet been announced, will feature “11, or possible 12” songs, and is the first album since the singer’s 2018 release, Caution.
Meanwhile, Mariah Carey recently made headlines when she gave a blunt response to a question about the infamous Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez wedding, which took place in Venice, Italy, in June.

On July 7, an off-camera interviewer asked Carey what she thought about the wedding, to which she responded, “I wasn’t there.”
Despite her shady queen response, Mariah Carey refused to stir the proverbial pot about the controversial wedding. When the off-camera interviewer followed up the question with a question about whether she was invited, Carey snapped, “Oh, don’t turn this into that,” before walking away.
Fans, however, were gushing over Carey’s refreshing honesty.
“She’s always so diplomatic,” one fan wrote. “People think she’s giving low-key attitude but she’s just being honest and straightforward.”
