Kid Cudi, fresh off premiering the Ti West-directed and Monkeypaw-produced Neverland at Tribeca Film Festival, is letting fans in on what transpired behind the scenes to prevent Entergalactic from continuing.
The animated project, featuring Jessica Williams and Timothée Chalamet among its stacked voice cast, arrived on Netflix to critical praise in September 2022 and went on to bag an Emmy. While a follow-up was at one point widely expected among fans, firm plans for a continuation of the story ultimately never materialized.
Now, Cudi is revealing more about what happened. Keep reading for more.
What did Kid Cudi say about Entergalactic‘s future?
“I asked them multiple times about doing another season and they told me no becuz they say it didn’t stream the way they expected,” Cudi said in response to a fan on X this week. “Critically acclaimed, and a Emmy win, and still no interest. Very sad and it breaks my heart. I felt like the audience would’ve grown and more people woulda caught on, but they weren’t into it.”

Cudi apologized, adding that he’s currently working on a different animated project. Per Cudi, “nothing can stop me from being great.”
In another X update, Cudi expressed confidence that Entergalactic, despite not being able to see the story continue as he intended, “changed the game” by making an undeniable “impact.”
