Joyner Lucas has responded to Skepta‘s diss track “Friendly Fire,” in which the UK rapper made several disparaging remarks about him and his rap skills.
On Sunday, Lucas shared a post on X in which he listens to Skepta’s diss track. Lucas chuckles when he hears Skepta called him a “bastard” in the second verse of the song, and stopped playing it altogether when Skepta says he hadn’t put out a hit song in quite some time.
“Alright, say less, my boy,” Lucas said before ending his video. Lucas also shared a laughing emoji in response to Drake stating that the best rappers come from the UK.
Lucas got this battle started after calling out Skepta in a tweet, following the latter’s suggestion that UK rappers would demolish their American counterparts in a rap battle. In his tweet, Lucas claimed he was waiting for this moment and mentioned Skepta while calling for a #UKvsUS battle.

From there, the rappers sent several shots at each other, from the Londoner claiming he wouldn’t respond and purposely saying Lucas’ name wrong, to the ADHD 2 artist asking to take the same drugs Skepta took while dissing him. Things came full circle when Skepta released “Friendly Fire,” and now the ball is back in Lucas’ court.
Drake declared that London rappers are superior to their American counterparts and even brought out Skepta for the second night of his headlining set at the 2025 Wireless Festival.
