Jeezy’s recent stop in Baltimore for his TM: 101 Live tour almost didn’t happen until an Uber driver named Tanner stepped in and saved the day.
The Atlanta rapper detailed the wild series of events on his Instagram on Monday, where he offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at his turbulent travel day. It all started when he woke up to news that all flights to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., had been canceled due to severe weather conditions.
With no air travel options available, Jeezy’s team decided to hit the road. They arranged for a driver to take him from Atlanta to Baltimore, but that plan quickly unraveled just two hours in.
“We hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere,” said Jeezy. “We pulled over to a small gas station to regroup in [South Carolina].”
A private jet was briefly considered, but the weather still posed too much of a risk. That’s when Jeezy’s team called an Uber just to get to a nearby rental car location. When the Uber driver, Tanner, arrived, the plan was to take Jeezy to the rental car spot and go about his way. But eight minutes into the ride, Jeezy made a bold proposal.

“I turned to him and said, ‘Hey, we need to go to Baltimore.’ I asked how much he’d charge to take us there, and after a moment of consideration, he replied, ‘Let me think about it.’ I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it,” said Jeezy.
Tanner agreed and for the next ten hours, he drove nonstop to Baltimore. The crew finally pulled into Baltimore just ten minutes before Jeezy was due to hit the stage. Grateful for the dedication, Jeezy made sure his last-minute road trip savior got the recognition he deserved.
“I told him he made a lot of people happy tonight! Gave him a Snowman Tee and told him he was my guest for the show tonight,” Jeezy added. “Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!”
Jeezy recently released TM:101 Live, a harmonious reimagining of his debut album, on July 26. He worked with Grammy and Emmy Award winner Adam Blackstone and composer Derrick Hodge with the Color of Noize Orchestra to evolve his debut in honor of the project’s 20th anniversary.
