French Montana cut his interview short and left the set of Sited with Rah Ali after being asked about the ongoing tension between Rick Ross and Drake, two of his longtime collaborators.
The abrupt exit unfolded during a recent taping of Rah Ali’s podcast, where the Hip-Hop artist appeared visibly irritated when the conversation shifted toward his personal life and the high-profile feud.
The interview was going smooth until French Montana, with the rapper revealing longtime associate Max B would be coming home on November 9, which is also French’s birthday.
When asked about his love life, French Montana somewhat dodged the question, but with a good explanation.
“I just want to keep my private life. My private life,” French Montana said. “I feel like every time it hit the media, it just, it was down to s### after that.”
When he was asked about the rift between Ross and Drake—French didn’t just refuse to answer, he suddenly excused himself.
“I’ll be right back I think I double parked my car outside,” he said before walking off-set. He never returned.
The moment added another layer to the already public tension surrounding the Ross-Drake fallout. Ali, clearly surprised, attempted to continue the show but acknowledged the awkwardness.
The Drake-Rick Ross feud, which ran parallel to the Canadian rap star’s beef with Kendrick Lamar, was one of Hip-Hop’s most talked-about conflicts last year, with diss tracks and social media jabs exchanged between the two former collaborators.
French Montana, who has worked closely with both artists, has largely stayed silent on the matter—until now, or instead, until his silence spoke volumes.
